Show runs through October 31, 2008
Nearly a third of your life is spent sleeping, inhabiting a world visible only to your mind’s eye, bounded only by the firings of your synapses. Naked dreams; flying dreams; falling dreams; fever dreams; prophetic dreams; sex dreams; dream lovers; dreams of the dead; day dreams; dreams of glory; hopes & dreams; nightmares; “I have a dream”; a dream within a dream…
What happens to a dream deferred? How different really is dreaming from being awake? Where do you go when you dream, and who do you become? Where does the dream end and reality begin? What are your dreams and aspirations and how do they affect you today and shape who you will be tomorrow? Please participate and share your dreams with us…

The first combined effort between Chris & Jason which became dirty
bros. productions. The show combined their artist resources (outsider artists, professors, acedemics, amature, professionals,
local, international, performance, video) into a big "smorgis borg"
of interesting work. The show was very well recieved as an open, relaxed,
ecclectic show of strong work and a fun atmosphere.

Highlighting
the work of emerging artists from the Detroit area and western Michigan.
The show explores the commonalities and differences in content and media
by visual artists from eastern and western areas of the state. Artists for
the show were selected by Kristin Beaver, a painter and art teacher at Wayne
State University, Dan Gay, gallery director at 555 Studio/Gallery in Detroit,
and Ben Van Dyke a graphic arts designer and installation artist in the
MFA program of the University of Michigan School of Art and Design. Ben
is a native of Grand Rapids. The show raises the question of whether there
is "cultural regionalism" in art or whether art grounded in conceptualism
is unbounded by environment or locality.

| This
exhibit with Andres Garces and Gregory Stovetop came about from having
worked side by side, adapting each others syles, and noticing the similarities
in gesture and detail. We decided on a straight-forward title. |
